![]() The Informations that were mentioned in this paragraph were all came from listening. My teacher gave me an audio to listen then told me to summarize what the audio was about. In the audio the speakers were speaking slowly and clearly made it clear and easy to understand what they were trying to say so after I listened to the audio I learned that speed was another major key in listening.
I talked about the factor that causes listening to be difficult in some situations. I usually lose my concentration quite easily and even worst when I have to listen to someone in the public where there are 2 or more persons talking in the same time. I also talked about the difficulty of listening to the various types of pronunciations from different people that come from different provinces or states. I think that these difficulty can be overcome by me be more calm and have more experiences in listening to different pronunciations.
I chose this topic because I want to tell my friends and teachers what happened to me and how I got over it. It was one of the worst things that ever happened in my life and I got over it by friends and sports.I want the person who is having the same issue I used to have know how he/she should face and overcome it.
In this article I talked about the best 3 strategies that I think that they could help me overcome the fear of stage fright and 2 strategies that I think that they won't help. The first strategy I chose was breathe deeply because it is what I normally do before I do something especially when I am nervous. I feel like it makes me less nervous and more calm when I do it. The next strategy I chose was to practice, because it makes me feel more confident if I repeat what I want to say to myself first before I say it on the stage. The third strategy I chose was to try get the pressure off myself because I'm the kind of person that takes serious thing very seriously maybe too serious and that causes me to put too much pressure on myself and that causes me to not be able to do it properly(Overthinking) so that's why I chose to get the pressure off myself before I have to do something serious. The 2 strategies that I think that they won't help are try figure out what scares me and think of the worst thing that could happen.
In this article I talked about a public speaking that I've done 2 years ago and a public speaking that I've done this year(2017). I talked about how I've improved myself over the last 2 years. Last 2 years I got to do a public speaking in front of my friends, teachers and seniors and as I said it in the article, it did not go very well or to make it even more clear it went pretty badly. The reason why I said that was because as I was trying to do it and right after I made my first step on to the stage my mind went blank and my brain didn't work as it normally should. The other one or the one that I've done this year was basically me trying to tell my teacher how much I've tried and improved myself over the last 2 years, I said that I've got less nervous and more confident in myself but I still have to a lot to improve.
In this poster I talked about Winston Churchill, the man who was know as the man who led Britain through the World War II and to the victory over the Nazi Germany. Winston Churchill wasn't thought to be smart for university but he could control the entire military and led Britain to victory so I learned that no one is good at everything but that doesn't mean that they can't be good at something. Another thing I learned was during the presentation I said that Winston Churchill was a great man because he led Britain to victory but one of my friend disagreed and said that Winston Churchill had also done many bad things so from that situation I learned that nobody is perfect, to say that someone is good or bad is up to where or the point you are looking at him from.
This is my reflection about past tense, for this topic I chose telling stories in the past as my example. In Thai language there is no past tense that's why it is obviously easier to tell stories in the past in Thai than in English. Even though it's harder to tell stories in the past in English than in Thai I still think that if I keep practicing and learning I'll be able to improve myself and be more comfortable with it.
This is my reflection for connotation and denotation. Denotation is the meaning that comes for the dictionary and the connotation is the meaning accords to the speaker life-experience and emotion. In my reflection I said that it's very important to know the word connotation meaning in order to avoid misunderstanding when you are talking to someone in public or even your friends. It's not just about the other misunderstanding you, because if you are the one who is using the wrong word, you can also misunderstand the others or your friends.
For this assignment, the teacher told me to choose 2 words that connote positively and negatively to me. The word that connotes me positively is Reliable and the word that connotes me negative is Lacking. I chose reliable for the word that connotes me positively because I think that when I am being chosen by someone, it's really my job to make him/her proud and not regret that him/her chose me. I feel really happy when I'm being chosen by someone because it gives the feeling that him/her trust me and believe in me. I chose lacking for the word that connotes me negatively because I feel like to say that someone is lacking at something is another way to say that someone doesn't have something even the detonation of the word doesn't mean that but I don't really prefer it, I rather use the word not perfect or imperfect.
